Shellfish Free and Vegetarian Safe
As the joint market grows many customers are beginning to look for suitable alternatives to shellfish and/or animal sources for Glucosamine Sulfate formulations. The difficulty is not only identifying Glucosamine Sulfate products that are vegetarian safe and shellfish/animal free, but also in finding a quality Glucosamine Sulfate ingredient that has the same efficacy as a Glucosamine Sulfate deriving from shellfish.
InvigoFlex GS contains a proprietary blend that now includes a vegetarian Glucosamine Sulfate. Meaning if you are vegetarian, allergic to shellfish, or simply want to avoid animal/fish source glucosamine, then InvigoFlex GS is right for you. In addition to being vegetarian safe, it provides a premium-quality and USP-grade formulation, and its overall patented Isotopic Signature Carbon Tracing method (ISCTM) ensures quality assurance and ingredient purity – which is essential in having a vegetarian and shellfish free ingredient.
Low Sodium Content / GMO Free / Gluten Free
More and more people now are determined to ensure their dietary supplements meet their own healthy standards. Many are looking to make sure their daily vitamins and supplements do not contain genetically modified organisms (GMO's) which have been linked with a variety of health problems. Rest assured that InvigoFlex GS is not only GMO free, but also Gluten free. In addition, we have recognized that customers are now also looking to control their sodium intake within their diets, including with their dietary supplements. While other glucosamine products may have upwards of 50mg to 150mg of sodium per serving, InvigoFlex GS contains little to no sodium in its formulation, which helps customers ensure InvigoFlex GS does not interfere with their healthy diet.
The Glucosamine Sulfate Difference
While many products today use different versions of Glucosamine, such as Glucosamine Hydrochloride, InvigoFlex GS specifically uses Glucosamine Sulfate as it has been proven in many different studies. Glucosamine Sulfate is one of the most popular and proven ingredients used to help with joint discomfort. As a natural ingredient, Glucosamine Sulfate is essential in maintaining cartilage in the joints while defending, strengthening, and promoting overall joint flexibility. Glucosamine Sulfate has also been investigated for its ability to modify underlying cartilaginous degeneration in joints, and therefore to potentially provide relief to patients. The majority of studies have demonstrated the ability of Glucosamine Sulfate to alleviate symptoms of joint discomfort due to overexertion and exercise as well as support joint function and cartilage.
The benefit in taking InvigoFlex GS comes in two forms. First, it provides much needed short-term relief (1-3 months) by helping to reduce pain from overexertion and exercise. Second, it provides long-term benefits in maintaining the joint cartilage and promoting overall joint health on a consistent basis. Additionally, less negative side effects have been reported compared to other joint products.
Beware of Imitations – Not all Glucosamines are the same
Glucosamine Sulfate has 150 pre-clinical and clinical studies with 12,125 subjects and 91 leading institutions. Leading medical journals like The Lancet and JAMA's Archives of Internal Medicine caution that without head-to-head trials, other glucosamine products, like Glucosamine hydrochloride (HCI), may not provide the same benefits as Glucosamine Sulfate. So beware of imitations.*

Customers and healthcare providers may be confused as to which product they should purchase or recommend. Many believe that all glucosamines are the same and that it doesn’t matter which product you choose or which glucosamine (Sulfate or Hydrochloride) you should take. However, the GAIT study – one of the largest U.S. studies done on Glucosamine and Chondroitin– found that patients who took glucosamine (hydrochloride) and chondroitin sulfate alone or in combination, had outcomes similar to those experienced by patients who took a placebo (sugar) pills. This new information was incorrectly used by some people as evidence that glucosamine and chondroitin as ingredients do not work for joint health. What is accurate, in fact, is that in studies that occurred before the GAIT trials it was only glucosamine hydrochloride that had questionable efficacy. In its editorial after the GAIT findings were announced, The New England Journal of Medicine stated the following – click here for full editorial:
If patients, choose to take dietary supplements to control their symptoms, they should be advised to take glucosamine sulfate rather than glucosamine hydrochloride and, for those with severe pain, that taking chondroitin sulfate with glucosamine sulfate may have an additive effect. 5
The added benefit of Boswellia Serrata
A relatively new ingredient to the joint market is Boswellia Serrata. Also know as Indian Franincense, Boswellia Serrata, a plant and natural extract, has been shown to have many different health applications, including supporting joint health. It's natural properties have also been known to have anti-inflammatory properties as well as antioxidant benefits and may even help with reducing pain from overexertion and exercise. The benefits of Boswellia Serrata have been validated and confirmed in multiple clinical studies. The gum resin of Boswellia Serrata is valued as a source of healthful "phytonutrients". Such extracts are used as ingredients in dietary supplements and cosmetics, to support healthy aging. However, the most popular use of Boswellia Serrata is in joint health as it supports normal joint functions and mobility.
The anti-inflammatory properties of Boswellia Serrata can be seen in the gum resin and is attributed to the presence of "boswellic acids". Boswellic acids were found to inhibit two pro-inflammatory enzymes, 5-lipoxygenase (which generates inflammatory leukotrienes) and Human Leukocyte Elastase (HLE). HLE is a serine protease which initiates injury to the tissues, which in turn triggers the inflammatory process. This dual inhibitory action on the inflammatory process is unique to boswellic acids.
